The Takamine G Series GD11MCE Dreadnought
Acoustic Electric Guitar offers traditional Takamine quality and features at
player-friendly prices striking a fine balance between power and simplicity
with solid tonewood selections and gig-ready electronics. A spruce top ensures
plenty of volume with the type of dynamic sensitivity you’d expect from a much
pricier instrument. Paired with spruce is a sapele back and sides in a
dreadnought body shape, sapele is tonally very similar to mahogany and infuses
the GD11MCE with a sweet-sounding midrange, not to mention sustain. Playability
is easy up and down the neck, thanks to Takamine’s slim profile mahogany neck
and a body cutaway that boosts upper-fret access. Musicians looking to gig and
record will also be pleased with this guitar’s TP-4T electronics, which provide
a classic amplified acoustic sound plus a built-in chromatic tuner and EQ for
tweaking tone to taste.
