About the Arranger

Jonathon Robbins grew up in a traditional family where he was the youngest of three children. Music was always present in the home since all three children played multiple instruments. Jonathon began studying the piano at age seven and studied privately with a focus in classical literature. At age of twelve, he supplemented his piano studies by learning to play the trumpet. Although piano was still his main instrument, at seventeen years old, he traveled to Europe to tour and play the trumpet with a nationally recognized ensemble. When it came time for college, family values led him away from the study of music, but after a year of college, Jonathon realized that his interests did not lie elsewhere. Jonathon chose a path that led him to Florida where he continued studying piano and began teaching students of all ages. While in Florida, he played and toured with a local stage band led by Fred Dean, a veteran of the “Big Band” era. After three years, Jonathon auditioned at several world-class institutions and chose the New England Conservatory, in Boston, where his studies included Piano Performance, Music Theory, Piano Pedagogy, and Music History. Jonathon spent many years teaching and performing in Boston while attending school. Later, armed with a world-class music education, he attended the Berklee College of Music to study writing, arranging, and film scoring. Soon after, Jonathon co-produced many music videos and live concerts, and served as the Music Director for the popular local television show, “Night Time with Tom Sage.”

The Korg XE20 is a new digital piano featuring an 88-note natural-touch keyboard and contains two full concert grand pianos. It also includes automatic accompaniment that lets you practice your favorite songs and truly perform them at the touch of a button. A complete array of auto accompaniment Styles can be accessed with your left hand, giving you the backing of a full band that you control completely. Just play the chords, and XE20 Digital Piano will follow your changes in any Style you select. You can easily change variations with a single touch. You can also add fills wherever you want or add a melody with your right hand. It’s a completely live and in-the-moment way of performing.

In addition to its stunning pianos, the XE20 gives you a versatile collection of more than 700 expressive and authentic sounds, including electric pianos, synth pads, drum kits, organs, brass, strings, and much more, all sampled from actual acoustic and digital instruments. Each of these realistic sounds can be played live or used as part of piano’s automatic accompaniments.

Perform Your Favorite Songs

Once you have learnt playing a song, you can easily record your own performance and save it for later. In addition to your own songs, you can use the Song Mode to play back the onboard demo songs, MP3 or WAV audio data, or S Standard MIDI Files from any commercially available USB flash drive, while you perform along with the playback.

Automatic Accompaniment Function

The Korg XE20 Digital Ensemble Piano is equipped with an automatic accompaniment function called Styles, which lets you automatically produce a full backing band simply by playing one finger or a chord in the left hand. It is easy to create simple improvisations just by using your right hand to play a melody along with the accompaniment. This ensemble piano gives you more than 280 different styles for musical genres from around the world. Each style offers four variations ranging from simple to complex, along with an intro and an ending for the beginning and end of the song. You can easily switch between these variations in time with the rhythm to add variety to your performances.

Powered-Up Speakers for Powerful Playback

The Korg XE20’s speakers have been redesigned to provide power sound with clarity. Its new playback system also improves the overall balance and the low frequencies of the drums and bass will be present even when automatic accompaniment is enabled.
