The Sovtek MIG-50 had a well-earned reputation for
delivering rich tone and sweet harmonics reminiscent of a tweed Fender Bassman.
The new Electro-Harmonix MIG-50 Guitar Amplifier Head is a faithful reissue of
the original with modern enhancements specifically selected to make it
bulletproof. Now combined by hand in EHX’s NYC factory from the highest
quality, globally sourced components, the build quality is first- class.
Controls
The Input I 1/4-inch jack is the audio input for the normal channel. The Input
II 1/4-inch jack is the audio input for the bright channel. Vol I Knob controls
the overall loudness of channel I, the normal channel. Vol II Knob controls the
overall loudness of channel II, the bright channel. Tone Knobs with Treble,
Middle, Bass, and Presence controls are used to alter the amplifier's frequency
response. Adjust to taste and experiment with different settings. Flip the
Standby Switch to the ‘on’ position. It’s best to keep the volume low when
turning your amp on and adjust it to the level you need. Turn on the Power
switch. Wait 30 seconds for the tubes to warm up. The lamp lights up when the
Power switch is on.
